The Apps Learning Centre (TALC) provides one-on-one tutoring and academic support for children at the primary/middle school level as well as direct instructional tuition for individual learning difficulties. We specialise in Dyslexia and reading and spelling difficulties.
Using evidence based outcomes, we are the only local centre to design holistic personalised programs that focus on the academic, behavioural, sensory, physical and wellness needs of our students.
Services include individual assessment and programs for developing literacy, numeracy, problem solving, planning, auditory processing skills, memory recall and higher order thinking.
Our one-to-one tutoring model is delivered in a sensory friendly environment. Individual programs are developed collaboratively with parents/carers and students to set goals, achieve successes and celebrate positive outcomes.
All tutors are qualified teachers or psychologists with experience teaching children with special needs including ADHD and Autism.

The Apps Learning Centre is open 5 days a week, 9-6pm. Each lesson has been
individually planned and tailored to suit the needs of each child. With 1:1 tutoring
hour is spent intensively without the distraction or possible imbalance of group
Lessons are planned used the 'best practice' technique of Revision, Teach, Practise,
and Revise. Depending on the student's needs, a lesson could include, reading,
dictation, fine motor skills, phonemic skill training and phonological awareness
building. There is also a game and craft component to ensure each student can
their new knowledge using a multi sensory method.
Each lesson is multi-sensory, fun and very engaging for all students.
All tutors are qualified teachers or psychologists with experience teaching children with
special needs including ADHD and Autism. The majority of teachers hold a Masters
Degree in Teaching.
The only variation is for upper primary students who require late high school or college
tuition which is delivered by teachers or University students who are across the current
practices, especially in Maths and Science. In this instance, the tutor is interviewed and
needs to have a flair for teaching and be in the top 10 percent of their field of expertise.
