I enjoy tutoring students at all levels and have been providing this service for 10 years. Some of my students have been from high schools, others attending University, TAFE, or are ESL. In most cases the majority of students who come to me are seeking to improve their writing skills, including essay structure, grammar, formatting, learning about research techniques and how to reference accurately. All these things are important factors which help students to become more confident in their abilities and to achieve better grades. In the past I have also tutored students with learning difficulties and have had great success in helping them to accomplish their learning goals.
My educational background is centred on teaching others to improve their language skills. I hold a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment. At Griffith University I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Languages and Applied Linguistics, majoring in Applied Linguistics and Italian. I learned about others' learning styles, how to teach the finer points of English to first language speakers, and also about teaching English as a second language. This is reinforced with my Certificate IV in TESOL. I then went on to attain another Bachelor of Arts with Honours, in the field of Humanities, and therefore I have a solid understanding and appreciation of learning and cultural differences.
Currently I work as the English Faculty Co-ordinator for a registered training organisation, and actively volunteer for an Adult Literacy program on the Gold Coast. I also provide a private tutoring service for those seeking individual assistance. I welcome all new clients and look forward to meeting you in the near future!
Importantly, I encourage ethical scholarship and maintain high academic ethical standards. This means that as a tutor I am here to assist students with their assignments, however, I will not agree to write assignments on behalf of students.
