Melbourne tutor in Calculus, Chemistry, Engineering, Maths, Physics, Statistics
Hi there. Thanks for having a closer look at my profile.
My name is Michael and if you are looking for a tutor in Mathematics , Chemistry or Physics I CAN HELP YOU. Firstly a bit of free advice. If you are looking for a tutor do not even consider someone who does not have a teaching qualification. This really is an industry with a lot of cowboys out there charging a lot of money and do not know how to teach. Seriously would you employ an unqualified builder to build your new house. This is a far more important decision. You can always rebuild a house but by the time you work out that the tutor is no good it is usually too late. There are a lot of lovely people out there who may get on well with their students but can't teach. The next question you may ask is how can I tell if the tutor is no good. Easy just ask them if you can tape the lesson. If they come up with lots of plausible reasons why this is impractical this is a major warning sign. Steer away. If they are agreeable I will happily review the tape ,free of charge and give you an unbiased appraisal of their teaching ability.
Why should you choose me?
1. A DEDICATION TO EDUCATION. I have spent my life dedicated to education and teaching and it is something I am very passionate about. THIS IS MY FULL TIME JOB. I will still be here teaching when your children , now doing grade 5 are at university. When they are studying for exams late at night and have no one to call I will be there as I have been for countless students over the last 30 years.
2.EXPERIENCE. I have degrees in science, electronics, journalism and education. I have a phd in physics.I have worked with the science teachers association on the VCE course. I have written a current VCE text.I have published numerous articles on science and education. I have lectured at universities, taught at teachers colleges and high schools. I have helped train students competing in the physics olympaid. I have worked as a careers advisor visiting many high schools giving talks on careers in science. And finally I have been a home tutor tutored these subjects to students for the last 30 years.
If you browse the listings you will see that it is rare to find someone who treats tutoring as a full time profession. I hope that you will see that tutoring is not just a sideline for me it is something I take very seriously.
I believe in using a friendly encouraging approach with a continuing analysis of the students progress pinpointing any areas for improvement and modifying the program as required. This is all done with close ongoing communications with the parents to ensure that they are informed of the child's progress.
